Jaclyn Trop is a business reporter for The Detroit News, where she has a front-row seat to the biggest business stories in the state.
She came to Michigan four years ago from New York City, where she was born and graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
In addition to covering Ford Motor Co. and automotive suppliers, Jaclyn was honored as the Small Business Association of Michigan’s Communicator of the Year in 2011 for her reporting on small business issues.
Her byline has appeared in The New York Post, The Independent (UK), Rolling Stone, American Airlines’ in-flight magazine, The Boston Phoenix, and Inc. magazine, among others. She is a loyal Detroit Lions fan.
